Jervis Bay Brewing Co. is excited to announce its next Speaker’s Corner community event on
Wednesday, 10th May, starting at 6pm. Hosted by local legend and former ABC news anchor
Richard Morecroft, the event will feature a special guest: space enthusiast and Australian
aerospace expert Dr Tim Parsons.

Following the success of last year’s discussion on the James Webb Space Telescope, this year’s

Q&A session will delve into a range of topics including but not limited to:

● The First Nations and colonial celestial connection
● Space and our relationship to it
● Technology and our future human footprint in our solar system
● How the use of space can help save our planet
● Followed by audience Q&A

Dr Parsons has been instrumental in building the Australian space ecosystem since 2014.
Alongside his aspirations to become an astronaut, Tim has earned a PhD in aerospace
engineering, worked for 20 years in dot-com companies, and run startup accelerator programs.
Currently, he coaches space startups, chairs industry growth associations, and consults widely
in the space and IPTV industries. Tim recently returned from the 2023 Colorado Space
Symposium, where he moderated a panel with five commercial space station operators for
global space research company Euroconsult.

The evening will also feature the Shoalhaven Astronomers group, who will bring along their
telescopes for attendees to observe the moon and learn more about our celestial neighbor.
